Charles Plosser

Charles I. Plosser is the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and an academic economist.
Before joining the Philadelphia Fed, Plosser was a professor at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester. He is a macroeconomist well known for his work on (and coined the term) real business cycles.
He earned Ph.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Chicago in 1976 and 1972, respectively, and a bachelor of engineering degree from Vanderbilt University in 1970.
