Cheryl Pounder (born June 21, 1976 in Montreal, Quebec) is a women's ice hockey player.
Pounder plays defense for the Canadian women's team in Turin though she normally plays for the Toronto Aeros of the National Women's Hockey League. She went to high school at St.Martin Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario. She was also the captain of the ice hockey team at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University. Although Pounder was born in Montreal, her home town is Toronto, Ontario. She is 5"4, and weighs 143 lb.
Career Highlights -Has won two gold medals (2002, 2006) in total at Olympics -Has won five gold medals (1994, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004) and one silver (2005) in total at world championships -Has won seven gold medals (1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005) and one silver (2003) in total at Three/Four Nations Cup
