Chris Tomlin is a Christian worship leader and songwriter from Grand Saline, Texas, United States. He is a staff member at Austin Stone Community Church and is signed to EMI Group plc's sixstepsrecords. Tomlin also leads worship at many Passion events. Some of his most well known songs are "How Great Is Our God", "Famous One", "Holy Is The Lord", "Forever", "Great is Your Faithfulness" and "We Fall Down", as well as his newest song, "Made To Worship".
Tomlin's band, in which he performs vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano, consists of Dan Carson (electric guitar, backup vocals), Jesse Reeves (bass guitar, harmonica, backup vocals, co-songwriter), and Travis Nunn (drums, loops). The latter replaced Ryan Sandlin, as drummer sometime in 2004. Tomlin and the band developed while working with the Harvest Ministry at The Woodlands (Texas) United Methodist Church in the late 1990's.
He is also one of the main worship leaders in the Passion movement, and many of his songs feature on those albums as well.

[edit] Biography
Tomlin was born and raised in Grand Saline, Texas. His father taught him to play the guitar and growing up he played mostly country music. At 14, he wrote his first worship song. He entered college planning to study medicine, but according to him God had a different plan for his life. After college, he played and wrote songs and in 1997, Louie Giglio asked Tomlin if he would be interested in Passion. He agreed, and he has played a key role ever since. He released his first solo project, The Noise We Make, in 2001.
