Colipon (zh:科乐邦) is my Wikipedia name, having no particular political, commercial, or ideological connections. It is simply a unique name. I used to work as a sociology professor in Shanxi Province, and I am currently a writer for a few magazines on Mainland China. Growing up under the flag of communist domination during the Cultural Revolution, I am very interested in the topics of history and sociology, and politics. A native of Nanjing, China, and a graduate of Inner Mongolia University, and having taken courses at the University of British Columbia in the mid 1980's, I am currently residing between Shanghai and Calgary, Alberta. My chinese name is Fang Hongshi. My English name is Gordon Fang. People refer to me as Gordie, you could do so if you wish in my talk pages. I specialize in the study of the contrast between Western and Eastern cultures, as well as historical sociology in China. I am deeply interested in research into Chinese history. I am currently not affiliated with any political organizations, but have been in the past. In my free time I enjoy sports. I am an avid Soccer and Ice Hockey fan; I am also constantly reading, the fiction novels I enjoyed the most are John Grisham novels and Zhou Meisen's Chinese political novels. As for history, Dr. Tang Haoming's three-book series on General Zeng Guofan stood out in the sea of fantasy history that is the norm in Chinese bookstores.

When I first found out about Wikipedia when I was doing an internet search about a historic topic. I was very impressed and I decided to donate some of my time into wikipedia works in English and Chinese.

I have, since the summer of 2003, worked on various China-related articles. I have recently concentrated to late-Qing Dynasty articles. Support would be great.
