Continental Wrestling Federation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Continental Championship Wrestling promotion, based out of Knoxville and managed by Ron Fuller, started out as Southeastern Championship Wrestling, a chief NWA territory during the 1970’s and early 1980’s while operating out of Tennessee and Alabama.
Southeastern Championship Wrestling was renamed "Continental Championship Wrestling" in 1985 and continued its membership in the National Wrestling Alliance. Fuller eventually sold the office to Alabama TV mogul David Woods in late 1987, who then broke away from the NWA to form an affiliation with the AWA and changed the name into the Continental Wrestling Federation in 1988.
