County Route 540 (New Jersey)

County Route 540, abbreviated CR 540, is a county highway in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The highway extends 43.16 miles from Shell Road (U.S. Route 130) in Carneys Point Township to Harding Highway (U.S. Route 40) in Buena Vista Township.
The road travels through the following municipalities at the specified mileposts (from west to east):
- 00.00-01.53: Carneys Point Township (Salem County)
- 01.53-07.54: Mannington Township
- 07.54-08.70: Concurrency with Route 45 (MP 2.12-3.28)
- 08.70-11.08: Mannington Township
- 11.08-15.40: Alloway Township
- 15.40-17.62: Quinton Township
- 17.62-18.94: Alloway Township
- 18.94-20.44: Hopewell Township (Cumberland County)
- 20.44-25.16: Upper Deerfield Township
- 25.16-31.40: Pittsgrove Township (Salem County)
- 31.40-39.38: Vineland (Cumberland County)
- 39.38-43.16: Buena Vista Township (Atlantic County)
