Crystal Springs Uplands School is a private high school and middle school located in Hillsborough, California, an affluent suburb about 20 miles south of San Francisco. Crystal Springs Uplands is a college-preparatory school; virtually all, if not all, of its graduates go on to four-year colleges and universities after graduation.
Although an all-girls school from its founding in the 1950s (when it was known as Crystal Springs School for Girls) until 1977, it is now co-educational and regularly sends a majority of its graduating students to elite colleges and universities, including those of the Ivy League, the better-respected campuses of the University of California, and liberal arts colleges around the country.
In 2004 Amy C. Richards from The Spence School became the school's new Head of School.
For the school's 50th anniversary during the 2002-2003 school year, a current history teacher, Wells Wadleigh (Chair of the Department), wrote a coffee-table book history of the school.
Patty Hearst, who became internationally famous when she was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) in 1974, is a notable alumna. Her fiancé at the time of her abduction, Steven Weed, was one of her former instructors at Crystal Springs.

[edit] Sports teams and clubs on campus
Crystal Springs Uplands School's athletics program encompasses many sports including Baseball, Cross Country Running, Track and Field, Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball. The school is also home to a variety of clubs, widely ranging in topic, including a club dedicated to Seinfeld, a Botball team, and a student-run magazine.
[edit] Vantage Magazine
Vantage Magazine is a student-run magazine set up in 2005 by the middle school section of Crystal Springs Uplands School. Its purpose is to provide an accurate viewpoint of the CSUS student body. Formerly, it was intended to represent the views of the CSUS middle school, a role it performed well at, but recently it was expanded to cover the views of the entire school.
Vantage Magazine aims to become a larger influence in the daily lives of students and to become an even more effective representation of the student body's viewpoint.
[edit] Seinfeld Club
The Seinfeld Club is considered by many students on campus to be the most popular and influential club at the school. While in terms of membership it is bested by several other groups, its popularity is uncontested; the club is a cult hit among many members of the school. Among its activities include entertaining schoolwide announcements, which are unanimously well-received by the school community. During the club's meetings, the members discuss the philosophy behind each episode using Seinfeld vocabulary.

The CSUS Botball team is led by an upper school student and consists of several members from both the middle and upper schools. It has had considerable success in past years in the Northern California regional Botball competition, but not as much in the national competition.

The CSUS upper school baseball team has had many successes, having won the North Coast Section baseball championship for the last two years.
