David Thomas (American football)

David Thomas is a current American football player for the New England Patriots. He was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Thomas played college football at the University of Texas. Thomas played a prominent role in the Longhorns 41-38 upset of #1 USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl, making a game-high 10 receptions for 88 yards.

He attended Frenship High School in Wolfforth Texas and helped Frenship get to the state semi finals in 2002.

Thomas has not seen much playing time his rookie season, as he is behind two first-round draft picks, Daniel Graham and Benjamin Watson, at tight end. Thomas has only had two completions so far this season, but both have been for first downs (his first NFL completion went for 29 yards, his second for 11).
