Deadline was a high-tech villain who fought Starman and Aquaman on several occasions. He first appeared in Starman (1st series) #15: "Deadline Doom" (October 1989). His equipment included a golden battle armor, plasma gun, flying discs and a dispersal device allowing the wearer to pass through walls. He appeared in Aquaman #9 where he was hired by King Theisley of Poseidonis to assassinate Aquaman but he failed. He also attempted to kill Steel at one point but failed that as well. In Flash (2nd series) #179: "Smile For the Camera" (December 2001), Deadline was shot and killed by Warden Wolfe at Iron Heights prison while trying to escape with cohorts Deadshot and Merlyn.
