Degerfors Municipality is a Municipality, in Örebro County, in central Sweden. Its seat is in Degerfors (pop 7,900; )
The municipal slogan is "The lodge of Värmland".
Degerfors has traditionally ben an industrial community closely connected to the large ironworks.
Nationally, the name Degerfors is best known in the form of the football (soccer) team Degerfors IF, that the small size of Degerfors has always had a strong local support, and played a total of 29 years in the highest division Allsvenskan in the 20th century (they were however degraded in 1997 and are currently playing in the second division).
