Don't Give Up On Me is an album featuring Solomon Burke, released in 2002 on Fat Possum Records. The album is noteworthy for the contributions of original and heretofore unreleased compositions by top-rank songwriters, the effect of which placed Burke back in the public eye for a time.
The backing musicians consist of Chris Bruce on guitar, David Palmer on piano and keyboards, David Piltch on bass, Jay Bellerose on drums and percussion, Bennie Wallace on tenor sax, Niki Harris and Jean McClain on backing vocals, and a musician from Burke's church, Rudy Copeland, on organ. Daniel Lanois plays guitar on Stepchild, Bob Dylan's song; The Blind Boys of Alabama feature on vocals for "None of Us Are Free."
