[edit] "Duke Nukem" name controversy
- Note that this is speculation. At least one 3D Realms source said the name issue was over a character created "overseas" (both Apopgee and 3D Realms are centered in Texas) (source: [1])
- It is not specualation as there is no other character called Duke Nukem, the time 1990-1991 fits and there is a icon of an angry Ted Turner at the official 3D Realms/Apogee Software forum [2]. It is not in the faq because that would be free publicity for this character. Overseas could also point at DiC, the creators of the first episodes of the show, who started out as a european animation studio.
Fine... apparently, my definition of "overseas" must not match yours. Mine means "not in the US". And why would 3D Realms worry now about advertising for another character 15 years old? This goes back where it was. You have no argument here.

The text relating to the trademark business needs to be sorted out, right now it reads like a schizophrenic arguing with himself. Tnikkel 04:23, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
