Ephraim Salaam (born June 19, 1976 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American football player who currently plays offensive tackle for the Houston Texans. During Ephraim's late career (especially with the Texans), he is best known for his lack of ability and his slow feet. He has been known to personally allow multiple sacks per game, most of these leading to David Carr fumbles because he is supposed to be protecting the blindside of the quarterback. He is widely regarded as one of the worst starting left tackles in the National Football League. He was a three-year starter as both a right and left tackle at San Diego State University, where he played in 31 career games. He was drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and went to Super Bowl XXXII. He also played for the Denver Broncos.
