Eufaula is a city in Barbour County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 13,908.

Eufaula is located at 31°53'21.732" North, 85°9'13.586" West (31.889370, -85.153774)GR1.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 190.3 km² (73.5 mi²). 153.9 km² (59.4 mi²) of it is land and 36.4 km² (14.1 mi²) of it (19.13%) is water. It sits on a reservoir called Walter F. George Lake, or just Lake Eufaula to locals.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 13,908 people, 5,447 households, and 3,878 families residing in the city. The population density was 90.4/km² (234.1/mi²). There were 6,110 housing units at an average density of 39.7/km² (102.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 57.28% White, 40.42% Black or African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.86% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 1.53% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 5,447 households out of which 35.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.4% were married couples living together, 20.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the city the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 86.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $27,910, and the median income for a family was $37,640. Males had a median income of $30,617 versus $20,477 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,146. About 19.3% of families and 23.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 34.2% of those under age 18 and 27.2% of those age 65 or over.
