Fontys Hogescholen

Fontys is one operator of Universities of Applied Science in the Netherlands. The headquarters of Fontys is in the city of Eindhoven.
Fontys was incorporated in the Year 1996 and currently consists of 38 Universities of Applied Sciences.
A lot of Germans from the borderland are studying at the Fontys Venlo. Currently there are approximately 60 per cent German students. The Fontys is offering amongst others Computer Science and Business Administration in German and English language. Since 2002 Fontys is offering the Bachelor of Science in Computer science studies with the major Software Engineering. It is a four year course (8 Semesters) with 240 ECTS credit points. The degree is named "Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology". The German "Kultusministerkonferenz" (congress for standarisation of schools and other things) decided that this degree is equal to the German Diplom (FH).
Fontys is also offering the courses BBA "Bachelor of Business Administration", BBE "Bachelor of Business Economies" and in cooperation with the FH Niederrhein "Logistics".

The dutch grades range from 1 to 10, where 10 is the best. Please note that the 9 and 10 are rarely given in the Netherlands.
