Frank Thornton

Frank Thornton (born January 15, 1921) is a British actor.
He was born Frank Thornton Ball at Dulwich, London. Thornton is best known as Captain Peacock on the long-running BBC series Are You Being Served? from 1972-1985, and later reprised his role for Grace and Favour (aka Are You Being Served? Again! in the USA) from 1992-1993. In 1998 he took the role of Herbert 'Truly' Truelove in Last of the Summer Wine. He can also be seen in Gosford Park (2001) as Mr. Burkett.
He was a guest star in two of the episodes of the British television comedy series The Goodies, and his other roles include that of Prince Albert in the drama series Fall of Eagles.
