[edit] Kasparov v. the world
Hi, how are you? I probably wouldn't have ever seen your article if it hadn't been listed on VfD, but I just wanted to let you know I found the game and commentary really interesting. Nice work. Wikisux 07:50, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for the positive feedback. Getting listed on VfD really threw me for a loop; I wonder if I'm a little too fragile for the rough and tumble of Wikipedia. Anyway I'm glad that most people thought the article was legit. --Fritzlein 17:34, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I wholeheartedly second that. Fascinating game and fascinating read. Thank you. Please don't get discouraged. Architeuthis 01:00, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Official rules of Monopoly
Hi, just thought I'd let you know I'm working on moving some of the less encyclopedic Monoply-related content to the all new Monopoly Wikibook, and I'm going to be expanding upon that content shortly.
I'm intending to remove the official rules page and instead link to the Wikibooks version, and later on I (or someone else) will write a combined rules article as suggested at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Monopoly strategy nonencyclopedic?.
So I'm going to delete the copy here if that's OK with you, I just thought I'd let you know seeing as you disagreed with past move suggestions.
Thanks! :) GarrettTalk 09:34, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Talk:Scrabble
Just to continue the off-topic conversation, have you seen Wiegand's kids? I swear they're cuter in person than in the publicity shots from the national championship. His daughter ran up to him from the crowd as he was accepting his prize at the end of the Seattle Scrabble Tournament. It was incredibly cute. Anyway, it's cool that you taught him boggle. How unfortunate for you to discover that the little freshman was a word game god. :) One question while I'm here, how come you have less than 50 total edits on your talk page over the course of an incredible 4+ years on the project?—WAvegetarian•(talk) 16:44, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- No, I've not lived in the Northwest since graduating from Reed College; I doubt Dave would even remember me. As for my low number of edits compared to my longevity, I discovered Wikipedia relatively early and was (and am) thrilled by the concept, but I have discovered that I am more of a gamer than a writer, and I'm not an editor at all. I got distracted from Wikipedia, first by returning to graduate school, and then by discovering the game Arimaa. Nowadays I'm the best Arimaa player I know of, but don't tell Dave; he'd probably kick my butt at that too. :-P --Fritzlein 17:41, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your message
I have replied to your message at the village pump, please see the message here, cheers —Minun Spiderman 18:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I have turned the Arimaa pages into links to the Arimaa Wikibook. --Fritzlein 15:41, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chinese Checkers Image
Upon reading the Chinese Checkers article, I found your uploaded diagrams useful and clear, with the small exception that, as the picture "Chinese Checkers Flying Jump.png" appears on the Chinese Checkers page, the x and o are difficult to see in my oppinion. I would like to replace it with a new version of the diagram that I created, which is exactly the same image except the x and o are larger. I am not especially experienced with wikipedia, I am not exactly sure of the proper procedure for this, and I am not sure of the implications of my request copywritewise. Please let me know whether or not I can have your permission to use my image, and anything else you think that I should know.
Thank you --Amanaplanacanalpanama 04:27, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Please feel free to use, improve, and/or replace my image in that article. My guess is that normal (proper) procedure is for you to do so without asking me, but I guess it can't hurt to be polite. :-) --Fritzlein 15:51, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Arimaa strategy and tactics articles
Soft redirects are not appropriate in this case, because the articles themselves do not pass WP:NOT. It would be a good idea to place the interwiki links in the Arimaa article, however. ColourBurst 17:26, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
