Gary Katz

Gary Katz is an American record producer most famous for producing virtually everything Steely Dan recorded. Katz is also said to be responsible for securing the band's initial record deal.
Steely Dan's distinctively clean and precise sound is often attributed solely to its only "real" members (Walter Becker and Donald Fagen), but Katz's influence and contributions as longtime producer should not be overlooked and are hard to overestimate.
Katz has also worked with Love and Money, China Crisis, Eye to Eye, and 10cc on their ...Meanwhile album (among many others).
