Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake is based on two books, Ghost Dogs of Whispering Oaks and Mystery by Moonlight.The book is part of a popular mystery series, created in 1930 by Edward Stratemeyer. The heroine of the books, and the computer game, is called Nancy Drew. The game was released in 2002. Sally McDonald has run away because every night some ghost dogs owned by a gangster named Mickey Malone was attacking her house in fact the house she was staying in was the house of Malone and the dogs don't want anybody living there except Malone, they don't know he's dead and so are they. There is a rumor that Malone had gold buried on his property and Nancy is going to find out who is using the ghost dogs to scare away the owner and look for the gold.

Red Knott - Red is a birdwatcher and doesn't like people because the more people in a forest the fewer birds come, he is only birdwatching at night because there are only a few people at night.
Emily Griffen - Emily owns an Emporium at Moon Lake she knows everyone at Moon Lake, she seems nice.
Jeff Akers - Ranger Akers is the only ranger at Moon Lake and he loves to ticket at people and is related to a man Malone always trusted in finding gold who is William Akers.
