"Gideon" is a song by rock band My Morning Jacket. The song was written by lead singer Jim James and remains one of the most popular from there album Z, and features the epic sound that My Morning Jacket has incorporated into recent recordings. The song is most likely about the biblical character Gideon, which is evident in the lyrics. The band performed the song on many Late Night Television talk shows to promote the album, and performed it accompanied by the Boston Pops Orchestra on The Late Show with David Letterman in June 2006.
