[edit] Tallest aerial tramway support pillar of the world
The tallest aerial tramway support pillar of the world is a 113.6 meter high steel framework construction, which is situated on a square concrete block with 17 meters side length, which stands on a rock tooth. The construction consists of a central steel tube with a diameter of 2.2 meters, in which there is a maintenance elevator and a ladder. This pipe is supported by four tubes of 0.5 metres diameter, connected every 10 meters with the central tube. This pylon was 103 meters tall when built in 1966. It has since been extended twice, first to 106.9 meters and then to the current height of 113.6 meters.
