Gordon Sidney Cowans (born October 27, 1958 in West Cornforth, County Durham) is an English football player and coach. He was a member of Aston Villa's European Cup winning team of 1982. During his time at Aston Villa he was nicknamed Sid and such was his popularity that on moving to Bari the Villa fanzine "Missing Sid" was named after him.
He won 10 caps and scored two goals for England. As well as distinguished career with Aston Villa, he also had spells playing for Bari in Italy as well as Blackburn Rovers, Derby County, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United and Stockport County.
He is currently the coach of Aston Villa's youth team.
