Great Southern Railway (Australia)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Great Southern Railway (GSR), owned by Serco Asia Pacific, is a tourism business and rail transport operator in Australia.
GSR operates three trains:
- the Indian Pacific (Sydney-Adelaide-Perth)
- The Ghan (Adelaide-Alice Springs-Darwin)
- The Overland (Melbourne-Adelaide)
In 1997, GSR took over the operation of these passenger trains from Australian National. In recent years Pacific National has provided hook-and-pull services for the trains.
