Gregory Norminton

Gregory Norminton is a novelist, dramatist, actor, and political and environmental activist born at Ascot, Berkshire, in 1976.[1]
He read English at Regent's Park College, Oxford and studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[1]
His novels include The Ship of Fools (London: Sceptre, 2001, 2002) (which he also translated into French), Arts and Wonders (London: Sceptre, 2004), and Ghost Portrait (London: Sceptre, 2005, 2006). His plays include The Third Half (Burton Joyce: Playwrights Publishing, 1997). He wrote Addiction: The Poison Tree for BBC Radio 4,[2] and his short stories have appeared in editions of Granta and Zembla.[3]
He contributed 'The Soul Surgeons' to the anthology, Book of Voices (Durham: Flame Books, 2005), sold to raise funds for Sierra Leone PEN.[4] He took part in Planet Action, an eco-reality series made by the global television network Animal Planet in conjunction with the WWF.[5] He was active in the Liberal Democrats' 2005 election campaign.[6]
Norminton has been writer in residence at Wellington College, Berkshire and Magdalene College, Cambridge and he was a featured artist at the 2003 International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. He received a Writer’s Award from the Arts Council of England in 2003, and a Making Waves award from the BBC at the Brighton Festival in 2000.
