Gunderson High School is a secondary school situated in the Blossom Valley of San Jose, California which first opened in the fall of 1976. As of 2005, the school principal is Mr. Tim Bisley and the average annual enrollment is 1100 students. The school colors are brown and gold and their team name is the Gunderson Grizzlies. The student teacher ratio is on par with that of the district, with an average of 18.517 students per teacher.
The school is unique in that it is one of few high schools to offer a 1-to-1 laptop program, and the only school to offer the program (a $6 million project) within the San Jose Unified School District. At the beginning of the year, all students are assigned an Apple iBook laptop computer along with books and other basic school materials.
