Jason Hart (born April 29, 1978 in Los Angeles, California) is an American professional basketball player, currently playing point guard for the NBA's Sacramento Kings.
From 1997 to 2000, he attended Syracuse University, where he became the first freshman in the Big East Conference's history to lead the conference in minutes played. Later on, he earned other accolades as an NCAA player, such as becoming his college's all time leader in steals and second place among assist leaders.
As a senior, Hart made the Big East's All First Team. He was also selected to the Syracuse All-Century Basketball team.
Hart joined the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2000-2001 season, but he only saw action in one game, scoring two points.
He was traded before the 2001-2002 season to the San Antonio Spurs. Nagged by injuries, he once again saw little action, playing in only ten games for the Spurs that season. He did not return to the Spurs until the 2003-2004 season, where he participated in 53 games, scoring 3.3 points per game.
Hart was signed by the Bobcats as a Free Agent before the 2004-05 season. In the second game of their pre-season, he scored 19 points, making a three point shot as time expired to send their game against the Washington Wizards into a second overtime. Despite this, the Bobcats lost that game, 128-126.
In the 2004-05 season, Hart set career highs in many categories, including points per game (9.5), assists per game (5.0), and rebounds per game (2.7). He finished 3rd in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio, with 3.6 assists for every turnover. After the season, Hart was traded to Sacramento.
