Jochen Hecht (b. 21 June 1977 in Mannheim, West Germany) is a forward in the National Hockey League. Along with Marco Sturm, he is one of the few German-born players in the league. In the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, the St. Louis Blues selected him in the second round, 49th overall, from Adler Mannheim of the German elite league.
Hecht spent three more seasons in Germany, before playing one season for the Blues' American Hockey League-affiliate, the Worcester IceCats. After just two full seasons in St. Louis, Hecht was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers along with Marty Reasoner and Jan Horacek for Oilers' captain Doug Weight. That same year he had the privilege of playing for Germany at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
That summer, Hecht was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a pair of early second round draft picks, with which the Oilers selected Jarret Stoll and Jeff Deslauriers.
