[edit] Celebrity Deathmatch
Johnny is the announcer and (according to some episodes) co-creator of the show along with Nick Diamond. In one episode, it's shown that before he got the job on Deathmatch, he was a spokesperson who promoted various rectal creams.
[edit] Post-Deathmatch
After the show was cancelled, Johnny's career spiraled downwards, hitting rock bottom when he made appearances as a recurring character on Reba. According to Tally Wong Johnny was bald after the show was cancelled. Johnny eventually got his job back in 2006 when Celebrity Deathmatch was back on the air.
[edit] Tally Wong problem
During the fifth season Johnny showed a dislike to former interviewer Tally Wong, similar to Nick's dislike to Debbie, questioning her and making sarcastic comments about her interviews. It all came to a climax when Tally replaced Nick on the booth after Nick went to the hospital due to anthrax concerns. During a fight beetween Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson, Tally revealed to the audience several secrets about Johnny. When Nick returned to the booth, Johnny declared that being with Tally in the booth was the most brutal thing that had ever happened to him.
[edit] Replacements
Due to complications of some kind Johnny has been replaced a few times through the series by guest commentators.
Stacey Cornbred and Mills Lane: They replaced Nick and Johnny because they were arrested for showing sexual content on the show.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon: They replaced Nick and Johnny for the motion picture from the show.
[edit] Age
Johnny's exact age hasn't been revealed on the show. Johnny's myspace says that he's 35 years old, but some episodes show him in the 60's or even the 50's so his age would probably be about 80 years old, but this hasn't been confirmed.
[edit] Other appearances
- Johnny appear as a commentator and unlockable fighter in the Celebrity Deathmatch video game .
- He briefly appear in a Where My Dogs At? episode. He was shown to be in Jenifer Aniston's top eight in Meplace(a parody of myspace).
[edit] Trivia
- Johnny has a degree in professional journalism.
- Johnny's old model had green eyes and black hair, the new model has black eyes and brown hair. Tally Wong stated that Johnny experienced baldness after the show's cancellation so the brown hair is probably a toupee.
- Johnny's brother in law, Sid, was killed by Bob Dylan in Family Night I when he disguised himself as Mills Lane to enter the ring.
- The only deathmatch Johnny has fought in was against Sam Donaldson. He was partnered with his co-announcer Nick Diamond. In the first episode of Season 5, it was originally planned to have Johnny and Nick fight each other in the Main Event. The fight never took place, though, for Bam Margera got on Don Vito's nerves while fighting Tony Hawk and wound up fighting him instead.
- Johnny's voice actors Maurice Schlafer and Jim Thornton are both radio announcers.
- Johnny's catchphrase "Good fight, Good night" is similar to "Good Night, and Good Luck" phrase of Edward R. Murrow.
- In the new series, Johnny's catchphrase "Good fight, good night" is occasionally changed to "Good night, and good fight".
