Kalinda of Qallar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kalinda of Qallar, also known as the Solid State Entity, Kalinda of the Flowers, is a cybernetic God in David Zindell's science fiction series, A Requiem for Homo Sapiens.
Kalinda was the first and only experiment by the Order of Warrior-Poets, breeding the first female warrior-poet since the Order's founding by Nils Ordando. She was a more powerful warrior-poet than most others, and it was believed that the chief redring (leader) of the warrior-poets struck her down. Her lover, Leander, is then said to have taken her to Agathange, where she was rejuvenated in much the same way as Mallory Ringess was. She then is believed, through unknown means, to have attained Cybernetic Godhood by extending her neurologic brain into a series of interconnected, moon-sized brain-lobes. She is the most mysterious and most infamous of the Cybernetic Gods, with the possible exception of the Silicon God. She is an ally of the April Colonial Intelligence and Ede the God, and bitter enemy of the Silicon God. She is believed to work with Mallory Ringess in the creation of protection from the deadly supernova radiation emitting from the Vild. She places great trust (and possibly love) in Danlo wi Soli Ringess in the hope that he will remembrance the Elder Eddas and find a way to defeat the Silicon God
