KBTX-TV is the CBS television network affiliate located in Bryan/College Station, Texas. It airs on VHF Channel 3. Its transmitter is located in Carlos, Texas. In its own market, it broadcasts on cable channel 5.
KBTX also offers The CW programming on its digital feed. Prior to September 2006, KBTX offered UPN programming on digital.
KBTX is the only commercial station broadcasting out of Bryan/College Station, airing five live newscasts each weekday from its studios in Bryan. Though ABC affiliate KRHD-LP produces two local newscasts each weekday, its shows are taped at KXXV in Waco, with only a small studio in Bryan. NBC affiliate KCEN-TV airs its newscasts in the area, but rarely covers the Brazos Valley. And Fox affiliate KYLE has its own studios, but is a fulltime satellite of KWKT in Waco, and has no newscasts.
In the heart of Brazos County, Texas, KBTX also actively covers Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Milam, Montgomery, Robertson, Walker and Washington Counties. Texas A&M University, Sam Houston State University and Blinn College are in their coverage area.

[edit] Operations
Though identifying as a station in its own right, KBTX is considered a semi-satellite of KWTX. It has most of its internal operations run alongside KWTX, and clears all of KWTX's syndicated programming (although it has some shows not seen on KWTX).
