Kents Hill School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kents Hill School is a college preparatory boarding school located in Kents Hill, Maine outside the capital of Augusta. Kents Hill was founded as Maine Wesleyan Seminary by Luther Sampson in 1824. Accepting girls in its very first year of operation, Kents Hill is one of the oldest coeducational schools in the entire United States, and may be the oldest continuously operating co-ed school in the nation.
Today, it is open to students of grades 9–12 as well as students working a post-graduation term. While the majority of the school's students board in the dormitories located on the campus, a smaller number of "day students" from the local area also attend.
