Kids Say the Darndest Things

Kids Say the Darndest Things was a TV show hosted by Bill Cosby and co-hosted by Art Linkletter that aired on CBS in the late 1990s. It is based on Art Linkletter's TV show, Art Linkletter's House Party, which aired five days a week on CBS for more than twenty years. The premise of the show is the host (Cosby) would ask a question to a cute child (around the age of 3-8) who would usually respond in a "cute" way.
British television network ITV produced their own version of the show, renamed "Kids Say The Funniest Things". It was presented by Michael Barrymore, and was a production of LWT.

- In an episode during the Linkletter era, Linkletter interviewed a young boy with 18 siblings. In the interview Linkletter asked how bathtime was in the boy's family. The boy replied that they'd all line up in the front yard, and on the blow of a whistle would run to the bathroom, with baths being given on a first come, first served basis. Linkletter then asked what is was like when he finally got a bath and the boy said, "What bath?"
- In an episode during the Bill Cosby era, Bill asked a little boy who cooked dinner in his house. The boy replied, "Pizza Hut". Later in the episode, this same 6 year old sang a Smashing Pumpkins song, Bullets with Butterfly Wings to a standiing ovation.
- In the Bill Cosby era, Bill asked a boy of Portuguese heritage what he wanted to be when he grew up. The boy's reply was, oddly, "a lion." This line was so unique that a newspaper wrote an article on the boy.

- The show has been spoofed on The Simpsons, when Rod, Todd, and Homer were watching it and Cosby asked a little kid "What do you like to play?" and the kid says, "Pokémon!" Cosby reacts by saying, "Pokémon? Pokémon with the Poké and the Mon and the guy and the thing he comes out of..." and trails off, probably describing a Pokémon being released from its Pokéball. Some fans have claimed him to say "The wrath of my love is W day".
- This show was a strong focus of an episode of Family Guy entitled "Brian Does Hollywood". Stewie Griffin says "I was under the impression the name of the show was Kids Say the Darndest Things not Old Black Comedians Never Shut the Hell Up!".
