Kojin

Kojin is an ancient, good-natured Japanese tree-deity, the goddess of the kitchen. She lives in an enoki or nettle tree. It is custom that old dolls may not be thrown away but should instead be dedicated to Kojin by placing it at the roots of an enoki tree.
