Kōga Danjō (japanese: 甲賀 弾正, hiragana: こうが だんじょう, rōmaji: Kouga Danjou) a character featured in the japanese anime Basilisk Kouga Ninpou Chou (known in english as the Kouga Ninja Scrolls). Danjo was to be ordered to chose ten warriors to represent the Kouga clan of the Manjidani Village (in which Danjo was one of ten), due to the fact that Danjo was the current leader over the Kouga. Danjo is the grandfather of Gennosuke (who becomes the new leader early on in the series). Danjo greatly specializes in the poisonous needle arts, which he uses to great effect.
[edit] Battles
Danjo VS Oda clan: This battle took place many years before the Basilisk series took place. After Oda Nobunaga had attacked the Iga's Hidden Hilt village for unknown reasons, Danjo appeared with his then-girlfriend, Ogen and attempted to stop the battle between the Oda by showing off his high level ability in the needle art, in which he shot out of his mouth with great speed and accuracy. This major wound in the whole of the Iga clan gave the Kouga the opportunity to strike their village. Danjo later fought off against a few Kouga shinobi who had mistaken him for a shinobi of Iga.
Danjo VS Ogen: This battle took place at the beginning of the Basilisk series. This conflict ended shortly when Danjo shot a string-attached needle out of his mouth which pierced Ogen's throat. After Danjo had used her blood to cross off her name amongst the scroll, Ogen's hawk made a large noise to distract Danjo, while the agonizing Ogen delivered a killing blow to Danjo with the needle she was suposedly killed with. This led to Danjo and Ogen sadly dying by each other's side on a creek to a river.
