Kronotsky Volcano (near the center of the photograph) is a volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. It stands 11 570 feet (3528 meters) above sea level and casts a cone-shaped shadow. It is a perfect cone shaped volcano that has its summit crater completely filled with lava and the summit itself is ice capped. It exhibits the classic radial drainage pattern, extending downward from its crater. Kronotsky is considered to be the one of the most scenic volcanos in Kamchatka.
