Kungsör Municipality

Kungsör Municipality (kommun) is a Municipality in Västmanland County, in central Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 202.7 km². Of the total population of 8148, 4100 are male, and 4048 are female, with a population density of 40 inhabitants per km².
Geographically situated at the western end of lake Mälaren. The landscape is scenically open, dominated by fields and meadows.
Its seat is in Kungsör, with 8,200 inhabitants, situated at
. The second largest town is Valskog, with 800 inhabitants.Historically, the town grew around the Royal Mansion that King Gustav Vasa had built in the 16th century. Parts of the mansion are still preserved and open for visits. It is located on a cape into the Mälaren.
