[edit] About
Letssingit.com is a lyrics site which also provides song discussions, forums, and a chat for members. Memberships are free of charge, and the site has grown into a community of sorts for its members. Letssingit.com, or LSI, is primarily a music forum, but also features many more categories of conversation.
[edit] History
In 1997, Raymond Bonsee, a twenty year old astrophysics major at the University of Amsterdam created "Ray's Music Site," a website that would eventually grow into letssingit.com in the year 2000.
While studying at The University of Amsterdam, Bonsee often found it difficult to search for lyrics. He figured that many people shared his feelings, so he decided to create his own lyrics site which was free and easy to navigate. “I had no intention to make it a big site. I just wanted to try to make a site that wasn’t like the others.”
"Ray's Music Site" received so many hits that Bonsee decided to make the change to LetsSingIt.com in order to accommodate the thousands of lyrics-searchers on the internet. The site started to grow rapidly, and eventually would become a forum community filled with characters from all over the world.
[edit] Forum
Possibly the key ingredient to the success of LSI has been the forum. LSI combines information and user interaction like no other website. Starting as a small community with one thousand members, the LSI forums have evolved into a huge community with over 6 hundred thousand users from all over the world. The core, and success, of LSI is made up of a few hundred members who have been posting on a daily basis for years. There's is a Hall-Of-Fame, which is actually just a list of those with the most posts.
