Lincoln Boulevard

Lincoln Boulevard is a major northwest/southeast thoroughfare near the Pacific Coast in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. It starts off at San Vicente Blvd. as a residential street but becomes a four lane thoroughfare after Wilshire Boulevard. Lincoln Blvd ends near Los Angeles International Airport, stretching over eight miles in total. The portion between the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10) and its southern terminus at Sepulveda Blvd. is signed as part of California State Route 1.
After Pacific Coast Highway merges into Interstate 10, Lincoln Boulevard is the main route to go south along the Pacific Coast in Los Angeles. It passes through the communities of Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, and Westchester. Major landmarks include the Ballona Wetlands and Loyola Marymount University.
Lincoln is notorious for high levels of auto traffic during daylight and rush hours. This congestion creates other high levels of traffic on alternate residential streets, such as Walgrove in Venice.
