Lindt & Sprüngli
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lindt & Sprüngli is a Switzerland-based company specializing in chocolate and confectionery production and marketing. It was founded in 1845 by David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son, Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann.
In 1998, the company bought the Ghirardelli chocolate brand and all of the assets of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. Since then, Lindt & Sprüngli has expanded the once-regional Ghirardelli to the international market.
Lindt has factories in several European and American towns, including Aachen, Germany; Kilchberg, Switzerland; and Stratham, New Hampshire.
One of their most popular chocolates is the Lindor brand.
Each year, Lindt produce their famous golden chocolate rabbit ('Goldhase') for Easter. These hugely popular treats are sold in various sizes, with a red ribbon around the neck of each rabbit. At Christmas, a similar product in the shape of a deer is sold.
