Literary Machines
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Literary Machines is a book by Ted Nelson, published in 1982, describing his Project Xanadu. He develops fascinating ideas such as Tumblers, for addressing bits in files past and present, transclusion as a method for including original work in one's own work, and micropayments to pay for the use.
The publisher Eastgate has reprinted this book that was first printed in Nelson's own publishing house, Mindful Press.
