M. Wylie Blanchet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
M. Wylie Blanchet (2 May 1891-9 September 1961) was a Canadian travel writer.
She was born Muriel Wylie Liffiton in Montreal, Quebec, and married Geoffrey Orme Blanchet on 30 May 1909.
Following her husband's death in 1926, Blanchet embarked on annual summer cruises along the British Columbia coast with her five children. Her 1961 book, The Curve of Time, documented these travels. A few hundred copies were initially published locally. Then Scottish publisher Blackwood & Sons printed more copies. Gray Publishing in Canada printed another edition in 1968. A 1990 reissued was published by Whitecap (ISBN 1-895099-26-9), and subsequently a 1993 edition by Seal (ISBN 1-878067-27-3). The book has been described as one of the "10 best-selling non-fiction books" in British Columbia.[1]
She died in 1961 while working on a second book.
