Zeev Rosenstein is not a mafioso but an Israeli criminal. The Serbian Mafia is not "mafiosi", but a criminal organisation that does not belong to the Mafia. There is an overload of of categories carrying the name Mafia, mafioso, or mafiosi. In these categories there are a lot of criminals which are not mafiosi. One only is a mafioso when one belongs to the Sicilian Mafia or the American Cosa Nostra. A complete review of these categories is necessary. -- Mafia Expert 11:50, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'd be the first to agree that criminal organizations, especially organized crime related groups, tend to have the misleading "Mafia" tied to it. I would also add there are several categories which refer to "gangsters" and "mobsters" which makes categorization difficult and confusing. However, I believe there is a difference between ordinary criminals and organized crime figures (as well as those between mafiosi and mobsters). This does seem to be the perfect project for WikiProject Organized crime to look into. Have you talked to User:Stefanomione regarding this issue ? He's probably done more work on organized crime related categorization then anyone I know. MadMax 11:38, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
