From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maremmano horses are bred in Tuscany and are the traditional mounts of buttero, or Maremma cattle men. Maremannos are not known for their speed, but they are useful as general-purpose horses.
Maremmano horses are good for light draught work such as cattle rounding. They are not particularly attractive, or fast, but they work very hard and are pretty strong. They are economical to keep. They are usually aroung 15.3 hh. In other words, 61.2 in. They can be of any solid color. The have flat withers and a quite low-set tail.
