Marion railway station, Adelaide
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marion railway station is a railway station on the Noarlunga railway line, which is located in the southwestern Adelaide suburb of Marion. It is located 11.4km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station.
Situated next to Westminster College and between Farne and Michinbury Terraces, the Marion Railway Station is regarded as one of the least looked-after railway stations in Adelaide. Marion Railway Station features a large footbridge for passengers to get to the middle platform on one side, while the other has a more convenient, low-level track crossing.
Marion Railway Station is between the Ascot Park and Oaklands Railway Stations, and is frequented by the Brighton and Noarlunga Rail Lines. Services run between 20 to 30 minutes on weekdays during peak hours, and up to 1 hour at all other times. Travelling towards the city, a bridge crossing Marion and Daws Road increases the convenience for the travellers. An upgrade to the Oaklands Railway Station may increase the chances of a station upgrade in the future.
