Maryland Route 139 better known as Charles Street runs through Baltimore City and Baltimore County through the city of Towson. On the north end it terminates at Interstate 695 and at the south end it terminates in Federal Hill in Baltimore. Charles Street is a major route through the City of Baltimore, and is home to the Charles Street shopping district, and Mount Vernon near downtown Baltimore. Further north the street crosses Loyola College, the College of Notre Dame (MD), and Towson University.
