Merche Romero

Merche Romero Gomes (born November 27, 1976) is a model, actress and TV host. She is of Spanish descent but she was born in Andorra. She has Spanish nationality although she currently lives and works in Portugal. She gained notoriety for being the alleged girlfriend of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, which made her the target of several Cristiano fans who started Anti-Merche sites.

Merche is the co-host of the daytime show Portugal no Coração (roughly translates into Portugal in our Heart). She also hosts a model search show, in which two Portuguese girls will receive modeling contracts. In addition, she is the celebrity spokesperson for a fashion brand in Portugal. Merche practices yoga.
[edit] Relationship with Ronaldo
Although various photos were published of the two together on holiday and at various events, Ronaldo never confirmed nor denied the relationship. On September 20, 2006, Merche announced the end of their relationship, while being interviewed for the Portuguese television show Só Visto!: "Cristiano and myself are no longer together."
Miss Romero is 9-years older than Ronaldo and has been divorced before.
