[edit] Career
After a standout amateur career, Jones started wrestling professionally as Soultrain Jones in Mid-Southern Wrestling in Tennessee in 1987. He feuded with Chick Donovan and Big Bubba.
He then went to the WWF as Virgil, the bodyguard for "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. His stage name, thought up by Bobby Heenan, was meant as a jab against then-WCW wrestler Virgil Runnels, better known as Dusty Rhodes. Jones carried DiBiase's cash that he liked to flaunt and was the one who got beat up while DiBiase ran away after a devious act on a face.
Eventually, Jones tired of being humiliated by DiBiase and turned on his him, hitting him with his own Million-Dollar Title belt at the Royal Rumble in January 1991. He defeated DiBiase by count-out at Wrestlemania VII and pinned him for the belt on August 26, 1991 at SummerSlam. However, he soon lost the belt again, thanks to interference by the Repo Man.
After this feud ended, Jones wrestled in the under-card until 1994 when he left the company.
He next appeared in WCW as Vincent in 1996 where he was the "Head of Security" for the nWo. His name, also thought up by Heenan, was meant to be a mockery of WWF owner Vince McMahon. Although winning a few matches on the low profile WCW Saturday Night, even against WCW Power Plant trainer Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker, Jones again took the brunt of the beatings as other nWo members scurried away. He was part of nWo Hollywood when the faction split and was one of the last members of the nWo when it dissolved in 1999. Along with an nWo T-shirt, Jones almost always wore Tommy Hilfiger brand jeans and shoes with the Tommy logo quite visible, leaving one to wonder whether this was an act of advertisement or simply his love for Tommy Hilfiger clothing.
Jones then became Shane to mock Shane McMahon and jobbed regularly on WCW Saturday Night. In late 1999, he joined The West Texas Rednecks in their dying days as Curly Bill but the faction split shortly after.
Jones went to wrestling under his real name for the remainder of his WCW days and left the company in 2000. He has worked in the independent circuit ever since while also making regular memorabilia show and military goodwill appearances.
On a recent appearance on The Bubba the Love Sponge Show (see Bubba the Love Sponge), Sean Waltman claimed that Jones could suck his own penis. He also claimed to have witnessed this superhuman feat.[1]
