- Economic Adviser, MCB Institute for Development Research (1995-1996).
- Director, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad (2nd January 1979 - 10th July 1995). The Director is in Grade-22 and has been placed in Article 16 of the Warrant of Precedence for Pakistan . His status was equivalent to a Federal Secretary.
