North Carolina's 11th congressional district

The 11th Congressional District sends one representative from North Carolina to the House of Representatives. It takes up most of Western North Carolina and includes Asheville. Since 1991, it has been represented by Charles Taylor, a Republican. In the 2006 general election, Democrat Heath Shuler defeated Taylor and will represent the district starting in January 2007.
