[edit] The Marching Patriots
North Warren is especially well known for their marching band. The North Warren Marching band won the United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) Group 2A Championships in the Fall 2000 Season with their show, "The Art of War". During the 2005 season the band earned 3rd in the state championships along with the state color guard title. [citation needed]
North Warren's Marching Band is also known for their percussion section, which is one of the best in their classification. The percussion section has consistently placed in the top three at competitions, regionals, state and all-state competitions for the past nine years. Their style of playing - quality of notes over quantity of notes - have allowed them to excel beyond all expectations. [citation needed]
The 2006 Marching band astonished the entire school with the fact that this years band is made up of more than 25 eighth graders, and aproximately 33 rookies overall. Despite this fact, the band has taken second or third at all of its competitions, and has won several awards for best color guard, best marching, best visual, and best effect. The Marching Patriots have placed 3rd at the group 3A 2006 state finals, despite being the seventh band out of fourteen, and like mentioned, half rookies. The band continued its outstanding performance by coming in 4th in the USSBBA Mid Atlantic Group 3A Championships.
